John Edmondson was born about 1699 in Virginia. His wife was named Margaret. John and Margaret's children may have included: John died about 1771 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. In 1773, William, Thomas, Robert and Margaret Edmondson were listed with the united Presbyterian congregations of Ebbing and Sinking Springs, on the Holston River in Fincastle County, Virginia when they called the Reverend Charles Cummings to be their pastor. In 1780, seven Edmondson men were in the Battle of King's Mountain: Andrew, John, Robert, Jr. and Sr., Samuel, and three Williams. Andrew, Captain Robert, and Captain William were killed. Robert, Jr. was wounded. |
